No longer a controlled economy

Based on the way that you all are playing the game, and the amount of time/energy that goes into creating a successful economy, we have decided that we will no longer have an actively administered economy/market on this server. Players are still welcome to open up "Shops" where they can trade goods openly and without restriction with other players, but there will no longer be a gold-backed economy from the admins and neither will we continue to use the /economy plugin to manage our player funds.

If you traded gold to an admin recently for /economy money, please let one of us know so that we can refund you that gold.

How do you handle Admin based items now? Can we exchange goods for these items or will these be completely taken out of the game?

They will be given out to players who do something really cool on the server, players who donate, and anyone else that the admins just want to give stuff to.

You should consider the economy plugin I made called EconXP. It lets players use their experience points as a currency (so they can use it to purchase items). It's registered with Vault, and Essentials recently allowed Vault to be used with their sign shops (which I believe you already have). This way, you wouldn't have to back the currency with a tangible item, as experience is used for enchanting.
