New world tree ?

Back in the days (feels odd to say that) on the old server, i died alot. i have no idea how many times i died of falldamage or ninja creepers hideing under my bridge. becouse of this, i saw the world tree quite often. and from my mounten house i would stant and look over the gigantic tree that rose into the skies. It was wonderfull and realy stood out and said "HERE IS SPAWN" to a poor lost guy.

When i logged on the new server for the first time, i got realy impressed over the labartnt and such, and i was prepared to walk into a gigantic tree when i finished, but sadly no. i got to a (awsome) market, but it looked more like a town than a place trees would hang out. The market and spawn should realy show the world that this server is about trees...

I must say i wish we could build a gigantic world tree, and name it "Yggdrasil" (the old vigking world tree) It could be done in a seperat flat world, and everyone who wants to join could help, they would get gamemode 0 (creativ) and together we would build a awsome tree. We could use this tree as a "Partytree" and have major server events there. it would be several stories and maby a refugee for spirits who lost their tree over the night. in its basement we could place the jail and in the branches i hidden sancury with water and a portal, the only legal portal on the server maby. It could also connect to the wall ... The possibilties are endless

while I like the idea, it may not work how you like.

For one, the Market is made up of many trees and will eventually be much larger and made up of several dozen large trees. The reason we built it this way, instead of one large tree, is because Minecraft's ceiling is too low to make it the correct proportions of height and girth. It will just look weird, and won't serve the purpose we want.

Give the market some time to grow, and you'll see it become much more like what you're thinking than what it currently shows.
