I was actually working on adjusting the Painterly pack to fit our needs. I'm tweaking it a little every day, and hopefully soon I'll have something solid that will launch with the rest of the server. You should check it out and see if you have any ideas. Post the Password script here when you're done so we can see it too! I'm using a very nice 16x16 pack with the possibility to use HDPatcher for custom water and lava, but there is no real need of that...
I'm lovin' this pack and... well.. you should look on your own.
It's designated 1.9 pre5 but it works fine with 1.0.0.

I looked at the texture pack, is there any chance that you could change the birch wood to the lighter one? silent

I use Misa 306 64x texture pack. It is absolutely wonderful, always. Also runs well on my cruddy Intel P4 with NVidia 260(temporary! my i5 board was thirsty)
