Who still plays here?

I rarely get on anymore so I don't know how active the server is. I wonder if anyone still plays here or if I'm just wasting money keeping the server running. The forum is free, so it can keep on indefinitely.

I play here occasionally... I know there isn't much reason to keep the server up now but i would lose half of my heart The first server i have played on faithfully. It would defiantly be sad to watch it go. Lol, I'm pretty sure my English has improved because of it to... After the servers "death" I have lost almost all interest in MineCraft, seeing as it was my motivation to play MineCraft for a while. It sorrows me to say, that I think you are wasting money with hopes of bringing something dead back to life. Even if the server does become permanently "disconnected" we will have these forums, and we will still be able to communicate. Sometimes the real world threatens everything you hold dear, and sometimes it succeeds in destroying it. But that is life, and we must move on.

PS, after this I started to cry. LOL

So it is this servers destiny to die, and with it the tree-spirit challenge. But it will live on within us. <3

The servers empty most of the time now sadly. We kind of need more people on. When there's zero people on, less people want to get on and play alone. I try and get on whenever I see someone else on, but it's pretty lonely now.

Started advertising the server on minecraftforums in my sig, hopefully a few people will get interested and join...Hopefully...

I guess people could use the forum to arrange to be on the server at the same time. We don't just go to the park or bowling alley or whatever and hope our friends are there; we arrange to be there at the same time. So why not make arrangements with our online friends, too?
I'll be off work next week, so I'll be able to log on just about any time if I know someone else will be there to hang out with. I'll be busy Sunday morning, Monday night, and around noon on Wednesday but everything else is open for now.

Seems like a nice plan, if we can get more than just us three on. I can probably be on tonight, Saturday all day, Sunday all day, Tuesday + Wednesday afternoon, then mostly a repeat.

I can get on at some point this week. Got time off from work to study for the GRE Biology test that I'm taking next week Monday. I'll probably get on intermittently this week while I'm taking breaks from studying and practice testing. I probably won't be on any day after 5pm east coast time and I won't be on friday at all. But I'll hop on during the day this week.

I can come online any day except for mondays and fridays.. Otherwise I'm usually online anywhere from 6:00-10:00 Pm (Eastern)

I'll try to be on tomorrow (Tuesday) night to hang out with you. I expect that I can get on late tomorrow morning, too.

I wasn't very active in the game since i got bored of Minecraft lately. Tried a roleplaying server (Morundia) and was promoted to the darkelf leader instantly... Most likely because I was the first darkelf on the server and build the whole darkelf town on my own.^^

Gotta decimate the citizens of my village, so if someone want some just ask.^^ I'll give them away for free if you build your way to my "tree".

I'll build my way to the spawn asap so i can give them to you there if you want, though that might take a while since i'm pretty far from spawn.

I would love to get on right now because I have a bit of time before I have to deal with other stuff, but is it just me or is the server not working?

Just going from server logs, it looks like it was down for about 20 minutes earlier. It started up again 3 minutes after you posted.

Of course that would happen. Lol. I will aim to be on after Criminal Minds which is currently on. Probably close to 30 min after the show ends.

I'm going to aim to be on tonight around 10 EST. I may be on a bit later than that depending on how things turn out.

I am planning on getting at some point this afternoon or late tonight. Won't be on for at least half an hour though probably. Got chores to do. *hasnt updated yet* I don't like the new update. But if I did update would I still be able to get on the server?

And then, of course I have a bad connection.

I haven't updated yet, either. And no, you won't be able to get on the server if you do update. It'll just say, "outdated server."
My connection has been bad for a couple of days, too. I can't even load facebook right now, let alone game. I wonder what the deal is. Maybe someone broke "teh inturnetz."

Hmm, well I wish there was a way to save multiple instances of MC, or that it was backwards compatible. Because I think some of the things in the updates are not needed or welcome in my opinion. Do you have plans to update the server?

I'll update the server when bukkit get's updated. There's not yet even a development release for 1.4.

It is possible to keep multiple usable minecraft directories with a different version in each one. Check this out. Once you get the hang of this, it's pretty easy. The only thing I didn't find mentioned was that bat files can't handle spaces in a directory path; that's why I have underscores in my folder names below.

Here's what my minecraft collection looks like (with one of the directories and its bat file open for demonstration.) I keep several versions, each with different mods, etc., and just run the bat file for whatever version I want to play. Click here if you want to see the whole image not cut off by the forum.

If you want to do this, but can't figure out how, ask and I'll do what I can to help.
