Help picking out a new laptop
So, I've really wanted to buy an Alienware laptop for quite a while now. My parents do not want me to spend more than $1500 on it, and they're probably right though I'm willing to go a bit higher. My question is, do you guys know of a good laptop that will last at least 6 years, good for gaming and art, and is within that price range? Is an Alienware laptop that is less than or around $1500 a good investment? Is Windows 7 worth it over Windows 8?
Any other suggestions? I really wanna get this over with, and hopefully buy my laptop within the week or over the weekend. So, if you guys could respond as quickly as possible that would be lovely.
On a side note I will be taking my certification exam on September 12, and have possible jury duty dates throughout the month of September. So, lots of studying for me over the next couple weeks. Yay. *blegh*

This is probably what I'd go with if I was looking for something at that budget.

You can get a pretty good configuration for right at $1500, including Windows 7 (which is supposed to be easier to use than Win8.)

Welp, just found out that Windows 9 will be coming out in a couple of months (or quarters or something?). And it will be bringing back the start button and stuff. Now I'm debating waiting until I can get a laptop that will come with that. Woe is me!!!! Why is life so difficult?!

You could upgrade later… Win8 or 9 shouldn't be mandatory for quite a while

Alright, so I bought my new laptop, an Alienware 14. Should have it by the beginning of October. Yay, now back to studying for my certification exam.
So, if you guys want to start thinking about switching to one of the newer FTB mods be my guest!

Cool I'm glad you managed to upgrade
As for moving to a new pack, I'm ready to do that anytime, I miss some stuff from 1.6.
